Madison Bumgarner takes San Francisco Giants to 8-1 win over Los Angeles Dodgers – MLB Update

San Francisco Giants bounced back with a gritty performance by Madison Bumgarner to overthrow the league rivals Los Angeles Dodgers 8-1 in the rubber outing at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Sunday, September 11 to avoid three-game series sweep.
22-year-old hurler being a reliable starter for the club has expressed his full command over the ball with 186.2 innings this season. Despite his eight strike-out performance in his 30th start of the season, he was unable to remove the gloominess
not to make the postseason over his club. However, the club has now devised a careful plan to use their granular pitcher.
"We had a little concern, not much, with how much he pitched the year before," Bochy said. "I just like where he's at right now. He worked hard today but made some great pitches."
Bumgarner seems not to agree with team officials as he insisted on more pitches in the coming games. He shows to have full strength in his arms despite getting closer to 200 innings mark in 2011 regular season.
"I'm just making better pitches and having a little better luck at the same time," Bumgarner said. "I don't know if I've gotten stronger. I still feel good. I'm not worried about wins and losses for me. The biggest thing is innings. You want to stay out
there and pitch late. That's probably the most important thing."
Bumgarner allowed only one run and three hits over five innings for his eleventh win of the season, as the left-hander has maintained his ERA to a 3.33 in this season. Only run he allowed came in the top of the second inning when the Dodgers’ Tony Gwynn
doubled to right-field, allowing Aaron Miles to score the game opening run.
Guillermo Mota, Dan Runzler, Steve Edlefsen and Waldis Joaquin provided a perfect back and they did not allow a hit except a single by Mota.
Eli Whiteside tied the game in the second inning and Pablo Sandoval along with Aubrey Huff touched an RBI singles to snatch a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning. Jeff Keppinger earned an RBI double and Huff walked to take the lead to 6-1 while DeRosa finalised
it to 8-1 with his RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning.
With every passing game, the Giants chance of the postseason is dimming. They are at 76 wins after losing two of the three games.
