Hello, My fiance and I are thinking about moving from Toledo, OH to the Jackson area in Mississippi. He has a job offer in Madison. Is there anything you can tell me about this area? Are there nice places for rent? Is the job market decent? I will be looking for a job in environmental site assesment, or restoration. Is this a nice place to raise children (we will be having some in a few years). Is it reletively safe to live there? We are looking for a change of scenery we have both lived in the Toledo area our whole lives.

  1. Madison is a great place to live! I currently live in Northeast Jackson close to Madison and am looking to get an apartment in Madison.  BTW it was recently voted one of the top ten best places to raise a family in America!  If ya'll do decide to stay in Jackson, stick with Northeast Jackson.  Trust me, West and South Jackson areas won't be showing up in that top ten anytime soon.

  2. Madison is a great place to live. It is not very loud and has a lot of things to do. It does not have any bad areas from what I know of and everyone is friendly. The water fronts are great so is the shopping and the schools.  Check out these links below.

  3. Yes, the Madison area is very nice. Jackson, not the best in the world. The job market is good, keep in mind forestry is a strong field in that area that may have some need for what your career path is. I have friends that recently moved there from Bham because of the schools and the small town feel.
