Madison P Livingston clinches Women’s 400 yard IM gold – 2012 Rice Invitational, Houston
Madison P Livingston of Rice-GU clinched gold medal of the Women’s 400 yard Individual Medley (IM) at the 2012 Rice Invitational in Houston, USA on Saturday, October 27.
Livingston showered her expertise in the distant IM discipline as she overpowered her opponents over the finishing blockade for gold medal.
She enjoyed a benefit of almost three seconds over her toughest competitor and cruised her way towards the wall for the title with a timing of 4 minutes and 31.76 seconds.
The champion was followed by Ali M Bleasdell of TX Christian-NT, who was two and a half body length behind and tapped the wall for silver medal with an effort of 4 minutes and 34.01 seconds.
Third spot of the race was obtained by Reka X Kovacs of HU-GU, who was 1.23 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 35.24 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Aly B Davis of TX Christian-NT, who stayed considerably slower from her former finisher and surfaced on the wall as fourth fastest swimmer with a timing of 4 minutes and 38.71 seconds.
Fifth spot of the event was obtained by Quincy E Christian of Rice-GU, who stayed only 0.20 seconds slower and ended her race by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 38.91 seconds.
Christian was traced by Laykin T Lowry of Hu-GU, who stayed nearly five seconds behind and submitted a time of 4 minutes and 43.88 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Victoria Thicke-Rattray of TX Christian-NT, who was 0.34 seconds slower from upsetting her former finisher and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 44.22 seconds.
Thicke-Rattray was traced by her teammate, Emily Rose R Creighton, who tried hard to improve her position but failed to surpass her preceding swimmers. Creighton remained 1.02 seconds slower and secured eighth position of the event by posting a time of 4
minutes and 45.24 seconds.
Furthermore, Livingstone received massive admiration from the audience for her notable form and raked medal at the prize ceremony of the event.
