Madison White impresses in Women’s 200 yard backstroke heats – Speedo Winter Junior Nationals
Madison White of Crow Canyon County impressed in the preliminary rounds of Women’s 200 yard backstroke on day three of the 2012 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships at University of Tennessee, Knoxville on Saturday, December 8.
The 18-year-old White spoiled the party of her opponents in the backstroke discipline as she went full rampant in the race and surfaced on the finishing wall for first position.
With her unrelenting efforts in the prelims, White showed no leniency to her challengers over the finishing blockade and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 56.71 seconds.
White was chased by Hannah Moore of Raleigh Swimming, who was 0.33 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 57.04 seconds.
Moore remained 0.71 seconds faster from Asia Seidt of lakeside Swim Team, who concluded her race in third place by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 57.75 seconds.
Seidt was chased by Kathleen Baker of SwimMAC Carolina, who was 0.37 seconds slower and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 58.12 seconds for fourth place.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Claire Adams of Carmel Swim Club, who was 0.29 seconds slower and concluded her race in a time of 1 minute and 58.41 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was obtained by Clara Smiddy of AK Sharks-FG, who was 0.01 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 58.42 seconds.
Smiddy was traced by Hanna House of Carmel Swim Club, who was 0.50 seconds slower and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 58.92 seconds for seventh place.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Alexandra Malazdrewicz of Jeffco Hurricane, who was 0.16 seconds behind and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 59.08 seconds.
In addition, White was happy with her fastest finish in the race and stressed that she would try to reach the top of podium by continuing the same in playoff.
