Madonna question...and I still don't understand...?

i read her biography a few weeks back and i just thought about it...if she's american, where did she get the british accent from? (no smart comments) (I think she's from chicago or somewhere or was it new york?)

She acquired it in Britain.  She's from somewhere in the midwest.  Don't know how easy that is to do, or if she's just "puttin on."

I think she picked up the accent living in London. If not, then she is just faking!

Its probabaly because she lives in England now and shes sort of just developed it! Some peopel are good at picking up accents.

Madonna lives in London.her husband is English.i guess she is picking it up from living there,or maybe it is just fake.i dunno.

She was born and raised in Michigan, and fakes the accent for some odd reason.

Give her a break!  I have lived in several countries, several regions of the US and speak several languages.  Not only do I pick up accents quickly in english, but also in spanish.  Since I live in the southeast US I have a southern accent.  When I lived in Canada, I had an Ottawa-valley accent - both english and french.  When I speak spanish I have a mexican accent since I speak mostly with mexicans.  When I lived in Argentina, I spoke with an argentine accent.  Some people just pick up accents, dialects and languages quickly.
