Madrid accomodation, but not in hotels?

Question

I want to try something different. Instead of staying in regular hotels, I want to stay either with a Spanish family who is renting out a room or someone who is just renting a room. We are visiting in December and will stay in Madrid and Barcelona for 4 days each. Question is, where do I find such listings. Craigslist had a couple...but where else do I go??
