Madrid went seven points clear of Barcelona in La Liga after a convincing victory over Real Zaragoza while the Catalans drew against Villarreal.
With La Liga returning to action on Saturday, Jose Mourinho’s men hosted Manolo Jimenez’s Zaragoza at Santiago Bernabeu. To the joy of the Madrid faithful, their team were able to secure a convincing 3-1 win over the visitors.
This was Los Blancos’ first match after being knocked out of the Copa del Rey at the hands of their fierce traditional rivals, Barcelona. La Blaugrana emerged victorious over the Whites with an aggregate of 4-3.
The Santiago Bernabeu outfit were looking for redemption when they walked out on the field to face Real Zaragoza.
The match began with the home crowd producing a spectacular atmosphere for Los Blancos.

Kaka was able to give one of his best performances for Real Madrid this season. Not only did he score, but he was also responsible for setting up Madrid’s third goal by providing Mesut Ozil with a wonderful assist. However, he was replaced by Jose Callejon
midway through the second half.

Mesut Ozil, who was in top form throughout the match, scored the third goal with the help of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Kaka. Ozil’s goal cemented Madrid’s victory and guaranteed them the much-needed three points.
On the other hand, Barcelona had to settle for one point as they finished their match against Villarreal in a 0-0 stalemate.
The Catalans visited the El Madrigal beaming with confidence but they were successfully kept out by the home side.
Saturday’s results have opened up a gap of seven points at the top of La Liga, with Real Madrid emerging as clear contenders to win the League.
