The Portuguese wingback was given a red card while he was on the bench against Getafe, but Madrid are ready to appeal for the ban which is attached with the punishment.
Real Madrid full-back, Fabio Coentrao, apparently used an abusive word for the referee during the match against Getafe and was given a red card while he was on the bench.
The Spanish champions have now decided that they are going to appeal for Coentrao’s red card and will try and lift the ban which has been levied upon him.
Getafe were able to shock the current Spanish champions, as Madrid travelled away from home to play out their second La Liga fixture.
Even though Madrid were the favourites to come out as winners, Getafe were able to impress throughout the fixture, and managed to emerge victorious with the final score-line of 2-1.
It was Mourinho’s third fixture without a win, as he also lost the first leg of the Spanish Supercup against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Barcelona faced Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana, the Spanish Supercup which is played between the winners of the Spanish La Liga and the winners of the Copa del Rey.
The two-legged final started from the Nou Camp, the match which the Catalan giants won 3-2.
Even though http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Coentrao is not a first-choice player for Jose Mourinho, the Spanish champions are still willing to appeal for the card which was received by the Portuguese star.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 is the first-choice left back for Madrid, and it was seen when the Brazilian star played against Barcelona during the second leg of the Supercopa de Espana, which Real Madrid managed to turn around and won the trophy.
Currently, Coentrao will not be playing for Real Madrid as he has been red carded, but the Spanish footballing bodies are going to take a decision before the start of the weekend La Liga fixtures, so that in case the ban is lifted, Coentrao is free to play
the league game.
Real Madrid will be facing Granada in the Spanish La Liga over the weekend, and Mourinho is going to try and turn his team’s form around as they have only managed to pick up one point out of the available six in the league.
