Madrid to tempt Chelsea by offering Kaka for Ashley Cole
It is no secret that Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho have been trying to get Ashley Cole to join the Spanish team. The player has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu ever since he returned from the World Cup following his break up with Cheryl Cole.
The media has been anything but kind to Ashley Cole who has said that he finds it impossible to live in England any more. Chelsea on the other hand have been trying to convince him that, no matter where he goes the situation will be the same and have repeatedly turned down any offers from Madrid.
Real Madrid however are willing to test Chelsea’s resolve by making them a deal that might just be too good to turn down. Madrid are willing to offer Kaka as a part of an exchange deal which would see the two players swapping clubs.
Carlo Ancelotti had previously stated that he wasn’t willing to let Ashley Cole go even for the thirty million that were rumored to have been offered to the English club by Real Madrid. However considering the fact that Real Madrid are willing to offer a player like Kaka would make any manager and team think twice about the deal.
Kaka who plays as an attacking midfielder, has had a relatively poor debut season at the Bernabeu and has been kind of a disappointment compared to the likes of Ronaldo at the club. He has also suffered a tremendous downfall in his form and fitness since he joined the Spanish club and would be looking to get into top form again, in order to make an impact on the national Brazilian side.
Carlo Ancelotti has previously managed the player while he was in charge of AC Milan and was responsible for Kaka coming to the Italian club. This means that he is aware of what the player can produce and he would also know that with the addition of Kaka the Chelsea midfield would be almost unstoppable.
But trading a defensive player for a much more attack minded one is doesn't really make sense. Shouldn’t Real Madrid have offered a player who played in the same position or was at least defensive in some way or the other because otherwise Chelsea will obviously get a world class player like Kaka, but they will still have to find a replacement for Ashley Cole at the club.
The ultimate reason for this transfer to not go through could be this very fact. Why would Chelsea want another attacking midfielder when they already have Lampard and why would they want to let go of one of the best left backs in the world, with no possible replacement in sight. Real Madrid have clearly not been doing their fair share of research and just jumped into this deal and tried to get what they wanted. There is a good chance that even though this deal is as tempting as it is, it will not be taking place.
