The Spanish national coach has expressed that he is not worried with the possibility of the Spanish giants facing each other in the final of the Champions League.
Del Bosque played down the importance of Real Madrid taking on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the showdown of the European grand slam tournament.
The Spaniard insisted that it will be a significant milestone for the Spanish football if the final of the Champions League is an El Clasico and maintained that it will not affect the Spanish national football team adversely.
Los Blancos and La Blaugrana have both made it to the last four of the prestigious tournament and are tipped as favourites in their own respective fixtures.
The prospect of the two teams locking horns in the final has attracted worldwide interest and audiences are eager to find out which team will be in the final.
Jose Mourinho’s men are set to take on German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, whereas Pep Guardiola’s Barca are poised to face English Premier League outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The semi-finals of the Champions League will go underway this midweek.
If Madrid and Barca face one another in the decisive match of the competition, a majority of the Spanish national squad will be present on the field.
With both teams consisting of important Spanish players, the match is bound to see them come together in Europe as well.
The rivalry shared between the two teams will mean that there will be a constant injury threat surrounding the players and matters do tend to get a tad bit out of hands whenever a Clasico takes place.
However, Del Bosque is confident that a final between these two teams will not affect Spain’s EURO 2012 campaign later in the year.
While talking to reporters, the 61-year-old quoted:
"We must enjoy this moment, because there are five Spanish clubs in the semi-finals of European competitions and the national team has nothing to do with that. Whatever happens will have no repercussions in the national team.
"We want a Champions League final between Madrid and Barca, because that will not damage the national team, because we know that some will win, and some will lose. The players are prepared for that."
The final of this year’s Champions League will take place at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena and fans are eager to find out which two teams will be fighting to contest it.
