I need a native madrileno or someone who has used/uses the public transportation in Madrid. I will be visiting for two months this summer and I would like to know the best public transportation option for frequent use of the suburban bus and metro. I looked at the travel website for Madrid's public transport... http://www.ctm-madrid.es/red_transportes/tarifas/red_tarifas.jsp?CODPANTALLA=1&CODBOTON=203 ...

And I am wondering, what does the Travel Card include if I buy it for the B3 Zone ( I already know I am going to be living in the B3 Zone)?? Does it inlcude only the Bus? The train? Can it be combined for the EMT buses and metro?? Also, is this the cheapest option...again I will be there for 2 full months. Also, what is the age limit for the Youth/Joven ticket?

  1. Hello - I live in Madrid.

The best and cheapest option for you is the monthly Abono - if you are under 21, you are eligible for the Joven ticket.

The Abono is for unlimited use on the metro and buses.

A B3 zone ticket allows you to travel in zones A, B1, B2 and B3.

Also - zone B3 is a long way out of the city - are you sure you want to live there?  It will take you well over an hour to travel into the city...

You will need to show a copy of your passport and bring a passport sized photo when you ask for the ticket at a Metro stop.
