Mads Pieler Kolding and Carsten Mogensen find a perfect start at Yonex Copenhagen Masters
Denmark’s experienced players Mads Pieler Kolding and Carsten Mogensen found a perfect start in Men’s Doubles category when they tamed Indonesia’s Ricky Karanda Suwardi and Muhammad Ulinnuha at Yonex Copenhagen Masters 2012 in Denmark, on Thursday, December
27.
The in-form Mads Pieler and Mogensen, who are considered among the best players in Denmark, put up superb show while playing against their Indonesian challengers and managed to claim victory in just 26 minutes.
Mads Pieler and Mogensen were in commanding position and they wrapped up opening set easily. However, they had to dig into their arsenal to overpower their challengers in the second set to seal off a straight-set win with a thrilling 21-5 and 22-20 score
on the board.
Meanwhile, Ricky Karanda and Ulinnuha were in all sorts of trouble in the first game but they troubled their in-form local challengers in the second game. However, they failed to play dominating game in the ending points and lost the match in a respectable
fashion.
It was an interesting fight in the opening rallies when Mads Pieler and Mogensen showed their aggressive skills and took over the charge of rallies without facing any problem.
The local shuttlers showed that they belong to the highest class of the game as they played flawless badminton and eventually remained successful in getting a strong lead on the board.
Mads Pieler and Mogensen did not show any sign of confusion as they remained in complete command of rallies until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the confused Ricky Karanda and Ulinnuha failed to create trouble for their Danish rivals after the mid-game interval as they lost focus in the arena and remained struggling.
On the other hand, Mads Pieler and Mogensen were very calm and composed in their play and they easily took the opening game with a staggering 21-5 score on the board.
In the following game, the Indonesian duo also played to their maximum potential as they started taking the bird early and stayed close to their Danish challengers until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, both sides continued playing at the same speed and reached at 20-20 when Mads Pieler and Mogensen played smart badminton and won the set with a close margin of 22-20 and sealed off a thrilling victory.
