The Danish cyclist’s Mads Wurtz put up a good performance in the stage and was able to take a gold medal in the junior time trial at the UCI World Championships 2011 in Copenhagen on Tuesday, September 20. The young rider Wurtz set the fastest time of 35

After taking victory, Wurtz told the media, "I just wanted to do my best and do the best time trial I could. It was amazing. This is the biggest moment of my life and it's not sunk in yet. It's the greatest day of my life, it's so amazing. It's going to
take some time to sink in.”
Wurtz was very happy with his effort as he put in a brilliant performance. The rider was consistent and showed tremendous skill as he fought hard throughout the race. He decided to start steadily and then increased his pace as the race progressed and built
the best time throughout the race.
The two cyclists including, Sondre Enger (Norway) and Juriy Vasyliv (Germany) rode well in the beginning of the race but failed to take a lead. Casper Von Folsach (Denmark) also showed his abilities and tried to take the medal but was unable to hold his
pace as he secured sixth place ahead of Kristopher Jorgenson (USA).
Previously, Schmidt took runner-up spot in the time trial Championships 2010 after Casper Folsach but in this race, Schmidt crossed the finish line first ahead of the other cyclists and took his first gold medal.
He further added, “I am really happy about my bronze medal. It was a very good nice circuit, there were parts with wind and other parts with no wind and there were many technical turns. I liked racing inside the city…the crowds were amazing.”
The next Elite Men’s time trial race will start in Copenhagen as all the cyclists will cover the distance of 46.4 kilometres.
