Mafia wars, level 12 with 2 mafia vs level 56 with 501 wins?

how is it that a 2 person mafia can beat a 501 mafia explain

I don't know, I've had something like that happen to me too.  The only thing I can think of is when they get their upgrade at each level they may be using that to upgrade their defense strength.

In that mafia game, it is all random and luck. There is no skill involved.
