The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 manager is targeting a win against his former club to capitalise on last week’s win against FC Koln.
Bayern Munich will face Wolfsburg in their next league fixture at Allianz Arena and will be looking to redeem themselves after being comprehensively beaten by Borussia Monchengladbach last week. The Bavarian giants cannot afford to drop any more points as Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are right on their tail.
Felix Magath, who guided Bayern Munich to two Bundesliga title and as many German Cups during his time at Allianz Arena, is confident to get a result against his former side this weekend. He admitted that Jupp Heynckes’ side is certainly the best side in the league and are also the favourites to win the Bundesliga crown but is confident that his side can get the better of the Munich based outfit.
The tactician stated that his team is blossoming with confidence after the impressive win against FC Koln which will surely help in securing a good result this weekend.
“It goes without saying that Bayern are the better team and they are clear favourites, and they will want to bounce straight back from their poor performance against Gladbach. But we, strengthened by our win against Cologne, want to cause Bayern problems at their place,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Schalke boss revealed that Hasan Salihamidzic and Mario Mandzukic will be available for the clash against Bayern. He insisted that Salihamidzic is doing well in training and can feature against his former club on Saturday.
On the other hand, the manager stated that Mandzukic may well have overcome his injury worries and could be available for selection. He stated that the striker will undergo a fitness test before the start of the match which will determine his place in the starting line-up.
“Salihamidzic has performed well this week so he does have a chance of playing. Mario has trained all week and if his condition remains stable, then he can justifiably hope to play,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will be looking to win the match to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
