Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath is confident that his new signings, Pogatetz and Olic, will prove their worth.
The 2008/2009 Bundesliga Champions’ domestic campaign last season was not particularly good according to their standards. Felix Magath in his first full season in charge of the club lifted them from the bottom of the league. In
the 2010/2011 season, Die Wolfe finished 15th in the Bundesliga.
Now Magath has a huge task ahead of him, he will be under pressure to deliver. The manager has a reputation of doing well in a relatively short span of time, and he was brought in by the club’s president to stabilise the side.
The club recently sold their star striker Mario Mandzukic to Bayern Munich. To replace the Croatian, Magath brought in the Dutch hit-man http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bas-Dost-c7339 from Heerenveen. The young striker is thought be bought for the future and the club
will be patient with him. Despite his injury problems, the Wolfsburg tactician is aware of the talent possessed by the young Dutchman.
“I'm excited about him, how he will perform. I'm sure he will take time to adjust, but I am convinced that when he does we will have a top-class striker,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The club’s other signings http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 and Emanuel Pogatetz, were also hailed by the manager, he considers them to be great team players and will add a lot of quality to the squad.
“We can see that both Olic and Pogatetz will be assets for the inner workings of the team,” he added.
The 58-year old gave his take on FIFA’s decision to introduce the goal-line technology; the former Schalke manager reckons the technology will take aconsiderable amount of pressure off the referees, who have been under fire on many occasions for giving wrong
decisions.
“It is a good decision, which will stop people wrongfully attacking the referee,” he opined. "I think that this is the first step in the right direction and other developments will follow," he further added.
The new signings will certainly raise the club’s expectations for the forthcoming Bundesliga campaign. The return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 from Atletico Madrid will also give Wolfsburg much needed depth in their squad.
