Felix Magath admitted that the first six months of the campaign did not go as planned and the team was disappointing throughout, with a series of poor results. He insisted that the team has worked hard in the winter break and an
improved side will surely be seen as the season resumes this week.
The former Bavarian tactician’s target is to finish higher on the table and wants to secure a place in Europe at the end of the campaign.
“We were not happy with the first half of the season. Over the course of the second half of the season, we want to put a greater gap between ourselves and the relegation zone and to do this, we want to ensure we get points on the
board straight away,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Magath is optimistic ahead of the start of the second-half of the season and is targeting a win in the fixture against FC Koln this weekend. He admitted that home fixtures are vital and that his side cannot afford to drop any more
points.
“I am very optimistic and confident about this first game of the second half of the season. We had a very promising training camp and we now want to show the fans this in the Arena. We go into this home game to win it,” he concluded.
