I literally just feel victim to a magazine scam. I did give them my info minus my social-- but I was reading after i got off the phone and I started doing the math and it is going to cost me a lot for everything!! So Since I did it today is there anyway to get out of it. Can I just cancel my debit card, or tell my bank it was a misunderstanding with the numbers and to reverse the charges

  1. Tell the Magizine, you changed your mind, sorry about that. Good luck!

  2. need more information. was this a door to door solicitation or over the phone?  exactly what info did you give?

Did you ever receive any sort of terms of agreement from this outfit? Anything regarding a cancellation policy?  My feeling is that this is not a reputable or trustworthy operation you are dealing with.  First thing is to close your account and open a new one so they cannot debit it.  Then wait and see what happens. If they contact you for payment then tell them you cancel.  Or demand in writing from them why you cannot.  Chances are you will never hear form them again. And NEVER give out info like that on the phone unless you absolutely trust who are talking to.
