Question:

Magazine Scam?

I was shopping at a local mall when a guy comes up to me and asks if I'm old enough to vote. I lied and said I was 16, but then he goes on and says he's selling magazines subscriptions to collect points for a cash prize, and wants my help. I say I don't need one and pretty much start to walk away, and then he says I could buy a subscription and donate it to the kids of a hospital. I was like dammit...and so I agreed to donate a Discovery kids subscription.

The company's name is Worldwide Subscriptions Corp. and the address is 2627 South Lamb Blvd. #102 Las Vegas, NV 89121. Have any of you heard anything about this company? The receipt says I have 3 business days to cancel my transaction by mail, and now I'm thinking I was ripped off.

Was this a legit charitable act or am I just a dumb@ss?

  1. i just googled mapped the address, and it kinda just looks like someones house.  if your having doubts i'd cancel.  also if you gave them bank details, i'd keep an eye on your balance!

  2. Well when I entered the company onto Google I didn't find anything on it. I believe that it could be a scam. I once researched an article about these things for a project and found out that there are a lot of scammers that pay kids to sell magazines and such door to door or to random people saying that it's for a charity/school when it's really a scam. I suggest you quickly cancel it.
