That depends - do you want to buy several magazines or just one magazine?

If just one then Amazon, EBay, or directly from the publisher is the best route.

If you want to buy several magazines, then I would use a magazine subscription service.

Why?

Because if you only want one then you only need to send a check to one place when/if you renew. Otherwise, if you subscribe to several that are with different publishers then you'll have to make several payments to different companies when/if you renew.

That is why a magazine subscription service is better if you have several different subscriptions. You only send payment to one company and they make sure you get all your magazines for you. So you again end up only making one payment a year. Makes it easier to cancel too if you end up not liking the magazine.

Ebay is usually the cheapest, but you run the risk of buying from a non-reputable or disorganized seller.

Amazon is reputable, but they are not a subscription service...they did outsource that service, but that company broke away from them and is now Magazine Express.

You can also get discounted magazines if you own a business or work as a professional like doctor, lawyer, hair stylist, graphic designer, programmer, etc...by purchasing from a company that sell waiting room magazines - do a search on the Search Engines for Waiting Room Magazines to find these companies.

There are also Free magazines available, but most of the time these are complimentary  for a few months or the first year, then you have to pay to continue. Plus some of the companies that offer free magazines will sell your personal information to other companies so that you end up getting telemarketing calls and junk mail.

There are companies that offer free magazines and don't sell your personal information, but you have to fill out a bunch of forms to qualify. There is no guarantee that you will be picked, but it's worth a try if you want see if you qualify. Do a web search for verified circulation to find companies that offer free magazines, but don't sell your information.
