Magdalena Kuras conquers Women’s 50m back-stroke title: 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals
The penultimate day of the 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals saw several attention grabbing swimming performances in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday, November 27. Kuras grabbed Women’s 50m back-stroke title, while Stefan Nystrand won Men’s 50m butterfly crown.
Magdalena Kuras topped Women’s 50m back-stroke race by banging the finishing blockade in a winning blot of 27.22 seconds. The swim moved her to 16th place in the existing rankings of international swimming. In the meantime, Michelle Coleman took
home the silver title in the respective meet by thrashing the finishing divider in a time of 27.25 seconds. Her effort moved her to 17th spot in the current standing of swimming. The bronze title went to Emma Svensson in a time of 28.11 seconds.
Meanwhile, Eljena Knutsson and Natasha Sundin notched fourth and fifth place honours by striking the wall in a mark of 28.86 seconds and 28.92 seconds, respectively. In addition, Sandra Hafstrom earned sixth place in the respective splash by thrashing the
finishing fence in a mark of 28.93 seconds. Lovisa Klarén finished at seventh place in a spot of 29.05 seconds, while Linnéa Olsson settled eighth in a mark of 29.33 seconds.
Additionally, the Men’s 50m butterfly title was clinched by Stefan Nystrand in a winning mark of 23.49 seconds. The swim moved Nystrand to 25th place in the existing rankings of world swimming. Meanwhile, Sebastian Holmberg took home the silver
medal in the respective meet by claiming the finishing blockade in a winning time of 23.82 seconds and the bronze title went to David Larsson in a mark of 23.85 seconds.
Lars Frölander earned fourth place honours in the respective race by striking the finishing barrier in a time of 23.91 seconds, whereas, the fifth place went to Anders Melin in a time of 24.09 seconds. Pontus Flodqvist got sixth position in a blot of 24.32
seconds, while the seventh place was secured by Nikola Stojmenovic in a time of 24.45 seconds, respectively. Last, but not the least, David Ernstsson earned eighth position in a time of 24.53 seconds.
