Magellan RoadMate 700 - I was in the middle of installing the software update version 6 CD when I lost power. After the power was restore, the serial number programmed in the unit was erased. Since the serial number was no longer there the CD didn't recognize the unit therefore it wouldn't download to the unit. I contacted Magellan's technical support and they were no help at all. I was advised that I needed to send in the unit to their service center in Texas for them to regrogram the serial number to the unit. I have read reviews, they were horrible, about their customer service and it took a week for me to receive a return authorization number because everytime I call, the customer rep. stated that their computer system was down.I'm afraid if I ship my unit back to their service center, I will never see it again. Can you help?
