  1. if you want a GOOD deck then include plenty of majic and traps. the majic should be a balance of offense and defense. the traps should mainly consist of backup plans for your magic cards. you also want slightly more monsters than spells and traps combined. having only spells is not a good thing.

  2. you should make a discard deck and integrate it with rouges. Cards like noggin whack are great for discard decks and rogue decks.

Here's a mono black rogue decklist I came up with if your interested:

    Lands:

    22x Swamp

    1x Mutavault

    Creatures:

    2x March Flitter

    2x Auntie's Snitch

    2x Stinkdrinker Bandit

    3x Nightshade Stinger

    4x Prickly Boggart

    4x Ghostly Changeling

    4x Frogtosser Banneret

    4x Oona's Blackguard

    Other:

    1x Bitterblossom

    2x Assassinate

    2x Unholy Strength

    2x Noggin Whack

    2x Grave Peril

    4x Morsel Theft

    4x Violet Pall

    4x Pack’s Disdain

  3. Best Burn cards ever:  Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Incinerate, Firebolt, Fire Blast, Ball Lightning, Hammer of Bogardan, Barbarian Ring just name a few.  These are a must in a casual burn deck.

Best Discard cards ever:  Hymn to Tourach, Hypnotic Specter, Mind Twist, Stupor, Duress just to name a few.  If you are talking about standard (T2) then the list will be different.

  4. a nice way to do a discard deck is to have a mix of discard, land destruction and creature control.  Another person answered the question with some good discard cards, but if you add land destruction you make a deck that can win in many ways - keep them from getting too much land on the table, and they cannot do much. Empty their hand and they cannot do much.  Add Megrim so they take pain when they discard.  Add creatures with a good casting cost/power ratio, such as black knight. Withering wretch is good as he lets you nuke their graveyards to get rid of reanimation decks.

Enjoy - but be prepared to make your friends mad.  Mine has banned that very deck from his house...
