Magic Channel looking for success in Betfair Supports Grassroots Racing At Kempton Nursery
Magic Channel will be looking to improve his carer strike rate, by winning the Betfair Supports Grassroots Racing At Kempton Nursery at Kempton in England on Monday, August 13, 2012. None of his opponents have won any event until now, thus he will have a great chance of bagging a cash prize of £2,264 from the class-5 event.
The American runner has been priced 4 to 1 by the bookies. Only Bix and Mowhoob have got better odds than him, as they have shown immense potential in the events they took part in. However, both of them will be under some pressure, as they are yet to open their account in terms of winning races.
The standard to slow track might not favour Magic Channel, but the punters will be interested in placing a lot of bets on him. He has got a very good stamina, thus he will like running in the 1 mile event.
This will be the second race at Kempton for the Richard Hannon’s trainee and he does not have very good memories from this venue. The first time he ran here was in July and he was priced 14 to 1 back then. He made a bad start and struggled to make up placed afterwards, finishing in a disappointing eighth place.
However, that event is history now and the young colt will be making to make an improvement today. His overall record is not an impressive one, as he has managed to succeed just once out of five times. Other than his lone victory, he has never finished in the top three, which is not a positive sign.
After making his debut in May 2012, the two-year-old runner struggled to meet the expectations of his team. He was rated highly for his first couple of races, but choked under pressure.
Despite that, Magic Channel made a strong comeback and finally managed to win a race in his fourth outing. He was once again rated highly last time around, but lacked the speed to match his rivals and finished as fourth in the end.
Things will be a touch different for the inconsistent runner today, as he will be partnered by veteran jockey, Richard Hughes, who is well aware of how to tackle pressure.
