  1. If you have a separate high speed internet connection like cable for example, there is a private telecommunications company that will let you port your current number.

www.YourLife4u.acnrep.com   click on the products icon, look to the right you will find digital phone service.

  2. you can not port your old home phone number with MagicJack!

furthermore, your home phone number does not have anything to do with it!

MagicJack is not a phone provider, just a device you can use to make phone calls!

After installation you will choose a area-code and new phone number!

    so,  do be careful....

  3. As long as you DO NOT cancel your current land line, you will retain that number.  At this time MJ does not port over your current #.

They will assign you a number from their pool.

So during your trial period you will have 2 phones and 2 numbers.

You will hafve your old # until you give it up.  MJ will not take it.

    Hope this helps!

  4. For basic info, instructions, valuable tips and cool screen shot previews of the Magic Jack install and registration process, I'd suggest visiting this Magic Jack review site:

    http://www.magic-jack.info/

This site helps you get started without a problem and links to where you'll find Magic Jack discount coupon codes to save money (anywhere from $2.00 to $6.95 shipping fee).  I didn't know there were discount codes when I ordered mine!  Note that some have reported you may have to enter a coupon code more than once for it to show up in the online order form.  I don't know if you'll want to try ALL of them 2X (up to you). lol

I first found this site suggested by somebody else here in Yahoo Answers last March, but notice it has been updated and improved several times since.  It's a helpful primer!

Most people are probably in too much of a hurry to install Magic Jack because they are anxious to see if works for them or not (I know I was!).  Like me, you might regret the choices you made quickly later.  It's wise to TAKE YOUR TIME, especially if your own city or area code is NOT available (yet).  For example, you might want to choose an area code and local exchange where a relative lives, so they can also call YOU for FREE too!  I should've done that, but did not.  This may be THE most important Magic Jack tip ever!

When the Magic Jack works, everyone LOVES it!  If installed wrong or it doesn't work, then it's terrible or a scam?  Hardly...

    Good Luck!
