Magic Renew?

anyone know how long the refinished tub will last after using this product?

i did the first coat on and used the entire can. it looks nice now. but how long does it last?

  1. Well...in theory its "permanant."  Magic Renew is an epoxy so its surface is definately harder than if you'd used a regular paint...but this doesn't necessarily make it stick better.  You can get the cheapest crappiest paint to stick forever if you prepare the tub correctly...which is basically cleaning it and sanding it (to make it porous).  Etching it is a great option too, but more work also.  As far as wear and tear resistance (scuffing and scratching) epoxies usually last a good number of years.  I've seen tub epoxies that've been put on as much as 5 years ago shine like new with not much more than a cleaning or a polish, but then again I've seen some peel off after a month.
