Magic Spear all set for the International Rose Of Tralee Festival Ladies Flat Race
The International Rose Of Tralee Festival Ladies Flat Race has brought together an assortment of fifteen five to seven-year-old runners who will race over two miles and a furlong at Killarney on Wednesday, 18th July. There is a hand full of those
who are racing their career debuts today. Those who have raced cannot really boost about the experience as it is quite moderate.
Dr Massini’s six-year-old bay gelding settled as the runner-up in his career debut. On 29th January, 2012 at Leopardstown over two miles, the Follow Leopardstown On Facebook (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race was won by the favourite entry, Ted Veale.
He kept the runner-up, Magic Spear, adrift by 1 ½ lengths.
The six-year-old did not fall into a high gear after breaking lose from the stall and was fourth in the track of eight when reeling in for the straight. With two more furlongs to battle over, the C. A. Murphy trained took the second position.
Filling up the third slot behind the winner was, Finish The Story.
The very next race saw him entering as the favourite but he failed to come at par with the expectations of the connections.
He ended fourth in the Discover Meath (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race on 18th March, 2012 at the Navan race course over two miles.
The race was won by Irish Thistle who declared dominance by the margin of 4 ½ lengths, setting You Must Know Me as the runner-up.
Some Drama reserved the third spot behind the winner.
In companionship with jockey, Mr C. Motherway, he raced from the mid-division and was fourth when entering the straight. He did ride on but could not impact the leaders in the final furlong.
The six-year-old Irish gelding is familiar with the distance which just has an additional furlong to it however, the jockey this time is, Ms. K. Walsh, a third jockey and a third venue.
The Barry Connell owned does not have to take down some serious level of competition, his skill over the distance should suffice to make him the first one beyond the wire.
Third outing down the career can get him the career’s debut success.
