Question:

Magic: The Gathering; MTG. Measure of Wickedness and the discard. Played on opponents side; ends up where?

Yes, so I am curious as to how the whole process ends up. I play Measure of Wickedness on my opponents side for the traditional mana cost. There is no countering and the damage is done for 8 life total when my opponents turn ends and no cards have gone to the graveyard. Now would Measure of Wickedness then go to my discard/graveyard pile when the damage is done, or will it go to my opponents, so that way the card can come back at me?

Also this question applies to any other enchantments played on my opponents side. For instance Ragged Veins, would that go to my discard pile when my opponents creature is dead, or will it go to theirs?

Oh and one last thing would sacrificing Welding Jar to Regenerate Welding Jar (same card regenerates itself) 1) Be legal and 2) Move Measure of Wickedness to my side if on my opponents side?

Thank you for answering and sorry for all of the questions, but this has been long debated between my friends and I.

  1. what card game is this i have no idea!

  2. Okay, here's the deal.  First, you cannot play MoW on your opponent's side. It is an enchantment that comes into play on your side.  So, you play it and it is on your side unless a card goes to your graveyard at the end of turn.

And yes, you can sacrifice Welding Jar to regenerate itself, or any other artifact.  They do not even have to be on their way to the graveyard.  Regenerating something puts a regeneration shield on that item until the end of turn.  So, you sacrifice the WJ to itself and your opponent gets MoW.  So, unless he or she can put a card in their graveyard somehow, they sacrifice MoW, lose 8 life, then it goes into your graveyard, as it is your card.

So, if you cast Ragged Veins on one of your opponent's creatures, the card will go back to your graveyard if the creature it is on dies.  And your opponent will lose the life.

And to answer the question that the other answerer asked, if you regenerate an equipment on a creature, it stays on the creature. Rgenerate prevents the damage from happening.  if the creature it was on dies, then the equipment is unattached.

  3. for your first question

if there are no countering, it will go to your graveyard and it will came back if you have magic for it

    second question

it will go to yours but you will looses life

    ex. 1 card 1 life,2 cards 2 lives

    and for last

    sample question:

Q: My friend insists that if he destroys a piece of equipment (Lightning Greaves equipped to Nim Shrieker was the target, specifically), and I Regenerate it (Welding Jar), the equipment becomes de-equipped. My argument is that since the equipment never leaves play, it wouldn't lose it's "target" for the equip ability.

A: You are correct. Regenerated permanents stay in play, become tapped, have all damage from them removed, and are removed from combat if they are in combat. There is nothing in the rules that states that a regenerated piece of equipment falls off of whatever it is attached to.

    is it clear now?
