I called a local game shop and got a list of tournaments they are having, one was called a "booster drop" style tournament, but I'm not sure what it is. Anyone shine some light on this question?

  1. im not posotive, but i think its a tourney, where each player is given a set amount of boosters, you build a deck from those boosters, then you are provided land. i played a tounrey like that. it was rough...

  2. I think what you are referring to is a "booster draft" style tournament. Usually, booster draft tournaments is consisted of three boosters from the current standard format. You open each booster and pick one card to keep. The rest of the cards are passed to the next person. This continues until all three boosters are drafted, and you build a limited deck of 40 cards with the cards you picked.

The current booster draft format can be Shadowmoor Shadowmoor Eventide, or triple eventide. This may vary from store to store, so you may have to ask the store what format they are running before you commit to join.

    Hope that helped.
