Magic chef MCIM30TS table top ice maker shovel...

Question

Our magic chef table top ice maker went strong for 2.5 years. Then inexplicably the plastic pin holding the sweep ice shovel blade broke. We purchased a replacement shovel and installed it only to have it break again. This time the shovel blade broke at one of the arms attaching it to the sweep mechanism and after only two weeks of use. Ordered a second replacement. That one broke after three months of use and in the same arm! Part is not under any warranty so I will have to purchase a new one from somewhere. I suspect that something is not aligned properly or that the replacement is not correct. Any solutions (short of purchasing a new ice maker).
