okay i have that which was taken in a deck it allows me to put divinity counters on target permanent when that leaves play do targeted permanents still have indestructibility.

  1. No they don't. The permanents will keep their divinity counters but they will not be indestructible.

    If you play another That which was taken, then all the permanents with divinity counters will become insdestructible again.


  2. no, counters stay until an effect or spell removes them.

    if it says somethin along the lines of  "put a divinity counter on target permanent" they are like all other counters (+1/+1, etc)

    but they are only indestructible as long as that wich was takes is in play.

  3. Once the artifact leaves play, the divinity counters mean nothing.  But if another one comes into play, then the counters make the permanents indestructible.  Here are the official rulings.

    2/1/2005 Permanents with divinity counters on them are only indestructible if That Which Was Taken is in play.

    2/1/2005 The divinity counters created by That Which Was Taken are the same type of counter as those used by the Myojin creatures in the Champions of Kamigawa set.

    2/1/2005 One That Which Was Taken can put divinity counters on another That Which Was Taken (for example, if Mirror Gallery is in play).
