Hi, bought a magic sing recently. its a enter tech branded one. A few days later we bought a song chip for it which came with around 900 songs on it. after getting it home we noticed most the songs were ones we had never heard of before. it cost the same price as most the other chips yet it had allot more songs on it. My question is the chips with less songs on do they have more known songs on them rather than majority with P.D next to them. By the way what does the P.D stand for in the (version of) and (composed by) field in the song book

  1. PD refers to public domain.  These are songs or music that don't belong to anyone in particular and therefore no royalty is paid to have those songs recorded or played.  These are mostly old, old songs (before 1920s) when there was no such thing yet as copyrights.  Most church hymns are PDs.  That's probably the reason some songs are unfamiliar to you.
