Magic straight perm??

Question

i'm thinking of getting the perm for my hair since its thick but does anyone know how long it lasts? and is it worth the money/

It starts around $1-- something. If your hair is long and also thick then it could cost $200. I know some friends that did it and it looks great, I heard it lasts for 6 months.

Perms that make your hair straight are what they permanent... they will never going away completely... if it is process correctly... cost from $80 to $200... depending on the amount of hair and how high end (fancy) the salon is... and yes its worth it is you get good results... ask around to find someone that got good results and go to who they went to.

It's different than a relaxer, those damage your hair.  I got a straight perm about 4 months ago and people still tell me it looks like I got it done last week.  Mine should last for a year (my hair is thick and wavy/curly) but if your hair is super-curly it might not last as long.  It can cost anywhere from $300-900 but in my opinion it is sooo worth it.  I get compliments all the time, and it is so easy, I can be ready (shower/blowdry) in about 20 minutes.  Less, if I wanted to.  It also looks really natural.  I would go for it.

Do you mean a relaxer?

Depends  but usually two to three months . . . at least for me.

a perm uses chemicals to change your hair and will last in the hair that was treated, till it is cut off.  A curly perm will relax somewhat over time but can be revived by using a shampoo that does not have a lot of conditioners in it. I have stick striaght hair so I always get the curly ones and thats how mine works.  I did have to try a couple of different types of perms before finding one that worked well for my hair type.  Mine does not take a perm well so I had to use a perm for hard to curl hair.  when I do, it lasts till I have the hair cut off.  For me it is worth the money.

Well, I got it and my mom said that it lasts about a year, if you take good care of it.

I would say that it's worth the money. Mine was about a $100 and the lady did it pretty good.

But the bad thing is that you HAVE to wait 2 days before you wash your hair, and you can't put your hair up. Or it would ruin it.

I go through relaxers like no other! it looks nice until you get new growth or ur roots sweat out. The kit is only 5 to 10 dollars i dont know how much ur dresser will charge you but if your hair is thick make sure u get super... Hope that helped
