Question:

Magic the Gathering combo legality?

I was wondering if there's a limit to the power/toughness of creatures because I have a Ninth Edition Holo Serra Angel and Ninth Edition Blanchwood Armor, which has ALOT of potential, with Flying, Vigilance, and a near limitless power/toughness possibility. It doesn't really seem legal, especially for a tournament.

  1. There is no limit to how large creatures can get. When you play competitively, you will find out that things like Serra Angel aren't even good enough to be played, never mind tournament warping.

Type 2 is currently dominated by faeries. It's premise is to get a lot of creatures into play with bitterblossom, then play mistbind clique repeatedly to tap the opponent out... or spellstutter sprite to counter their opponent's spells.

The older formats are dominated by combo decks like Storm and Dredge. Storm is a mechanic that allows free copies of a spell for each one played before it, and decks can easily take advantage of that to win on turn 1 a large portion of the time. Dredge is a deck that abuses the dredge mechanic and card drawing to put it's entire deck into it's graveyard in the first 3 turns... then use Bridge from below to get tons of zombies, and flame-kin zealot to give them all haste.

  2. Perfectly legal. Even in a Standard Tournament.

Isn't it fun when you find something you can tweak? :)

  3. It's Legal.  Blanchwood Armor is limited by the number of forests you have in play but it can still be a very handy card.  I personally used to use Empyrial Armor which increases power and toughness by one per card which you have in your hand.  I liked to use it on fast shadow creatures like the Soltari Monk & Priest instead of angels.  They have a new uncommon enchantment from Shadowmoor which gives a creature +1/+1 per plains you control plus flying.  Pretty Good.

  4. it is very legal but every easy to counter i don't know the cards name but what it does destroy target creature deal damage equal to creatures toughness to target player, And target player dies simple as that. or use entangle bridge it is an artifact that cost 3 that creatures can't attack with power greater then your hand size.
