  2. there are 3 major types of deck -

    Control

    Aggro

    Combo.

There is also Aggo-Control which is a hybrid of the two.

Control decks are usually White & Blue and work to control the pace of the game. These decks use counter magic and usually a strong ending creature. Black Control has been a viable deck type as well.

Aggro decks try to setup a strong attack early in the game and win before the other player can make a stand. The more common decks in aggro are White or Black weenie, Sligh, Red Green Beats or Blue Green Beats.

Combo decks run through all colors. They use 2 or 3 cards that lock the game down and then allow the combo player to win. Some examples are Mindslaver, Stasis, or Relevark decks.

  4. There are many types of Magic the Gathering decks:

-The Soldier deck relies on soldiers to work together to achieve victory. It is white and blue.

-The Wizard deck relies on tricky Wizards. Willbender and other morph wizards can keep someone guessing for a long. Not much is as it seems. It seems to be Blue and Black.

-The Rogue deck is about attacking with rogues that easily get passed blockers. Because they deal combat damage to opponents easily, they have an ability called Prowl. Prowl can have you play cards for cheaper costs. You may even get a bonus effect when you pay the prowl cost. One good rogue is Stinkdrinker Bandit. He costs 3B, but with prowl costs 1B. He is a Goblin Rogue 2/1 with the ability When a Rogue you control attacks and isn't blocked (that is usually the case), it gets +2/+1 until end of turn.

-The Zombie deck relies on Zombies. I bilieve Lord of the Undead was reprinted recently. For 1BB mana, he is a 2/2 Zombie that gives all other Zombies +1/+1 and, for 1B,Tap, he returns a Zombie from your graveyard to your hand. Luckily there are a lot of good Zombies printed recently.

-The Goblin deck is all about tiny goblins who sacrifice themselves for various effects. Boggart Shenanigans then deals 1 damage to the opponent for each goblin sent from play to your graveyard.

-The Warrior deck is very vicious. It focuses on getting out huge warriors out and equipping them with Obsidian Battle Axe to give them haste. Boldwyr Intimidator is a GREAT card for this deck.

-Elves are green creatures. They have many roles, but you will often see Elf Druids. This means they produce mana so you can play other stuff.

-Treefolk are big, defensive creatures. They are mostly green, but there are some black ones and some white ones.

They often cost a good amount of mana, but some of the green treefolk have connections to the Forests. That's not much of a surprise, but some of those allow you to get Forests from the deck. Here is a list of all the lands that count as Forests:

    -Bayou

    -Breeding Pool

    -Dryad Arbor

    -Forest

    -Murmuring Bosk

    -Overgrown Tomb

    -Sapseep Forest

    -Savannah

    -Snow-Covered Forest

    -Stomping Ground

    -Taiga

    -Temple Garden

    -Tropical Island

When you look at many treefolk, they often have high toughness. What does that do? Well if you look at Doran, the Siege Tower (costs BGW, 0/5, Legendary Creature - Treefolk Shaman), he says "Creatures assign combat damage equal to their toughness rather than their power." This turns their defense into their offense!

-Slivers are creatures that give each other abilities. Just look through all the slivers and see why they are so amazing.

-Rebels are always ready to fight for a cause. Many can search others out, while the other Rebels work like a toolbox. You can send one out to deal with a specific situation. Just face them in a battle. They are deadly with Mirror Entity.

There are many more cool creature types. You just have to look around. Just remember that some creatures have changeling, making them every creature type.
