I am a old school player (i stopped for a while) so most new cards that are being release i might not know

just want to have some suggestion from u guys to see if there are any better, newer cards that can be use in my deck

here goes:

Creatures (22)

4 Tinder Wall

4 Llanowar Elves

4 Kird Ape

4 River Boa

4 Yavimaya Ants

2 Lava Hounds

Spells (20)

4 Giant Growth

4 Rancor

4 Lightning Bolt

4 Incinerate

4 Kindle

Land (18)

4 Taiga

7 Forest

7 Mountain

Ideally, how this deck is played: (most of the time its this way)

T1 forest, Tinder Wall

T2 forest, sac Tinder Wall, summon Lava Hound or Yavimaya Ants, attack

T3 mountain, if Ants on T2, pay upkeep and attack and Bolt on opponent, if hound on T2, enchant with Rancor and attack, Giant Growth and Bolt

T4 opponent is probably died or 1/2 died

thanks for reading and please do let ur advices/comments/critics come in :)

  1. The closest thing you will get for Tinder Wall is Wall of Roots, though it is a lot slower than Tinder.

Llanowar Elves are Llanowar Elves and there really isn't anything better.

Mire Boa is the equivilant of River Boa except that it has Swampwalk.

Groundbreaker is the new Ball Lightning and would be a nice replacement for the ants.

Stampeding Wildebeests, Imperiosaur or Chameleon Colossus would probably fit the role of Lava Hounds though they are green.

Rancor is Rancor and there will never be a replacement.  Though Loxodon Warhammer might do the trick.

Char is a nice burn spell for the Lightning Bolt.

Surging Flame is a nice switch for Kindle.  It doesn't look in the grave but the library.

Incinerate is legal again in Standard.  It was printed in Xth edition, so your IA, TM, or 5th edition is legal.

Stomping Ground is a shockland version of Taiga.  When it comes into play, have it deal 2 damage to you or it comes into play tapped.  Karplusan Forest will tap for colorless (no pain) or R/G for 1 damage to yourself.  Fire-Lit Thicket can add RG, RR, or GG to your mana pool for the price of R/G.  Fungal Reaches will store mana for you to use at a later time.

Treetop Village and Ghitu Encampment is back for some manland love.

Note:  These are all cards that are legal in Standard (except for Stomping Ground and Char).  There are probably others that are equally as good as your cards but I just can't think of them.  Also, if you want to look up what the cards do, then look here.

That's Gatherer, if you didn't know.  Just type in the name and it will bring it up for you.

    Hope it helps.

  2. Not bad at all, I see it and personally think that stands nicely against current decks.  I would check into modern elementals, like the not so recent but still pretty good in my book "Force of Nature" or the more recent "Force of Savagery".  My personal fav is the "Nova Chaser" and combine that with "Incandescent Soulstoke" and "Flamekin Harbinger" and you have a solid red deck that runs on only three mana and it's reaccuring.  Let me know if this helped.
