  1. Buying old packs is actually not that hot an idea. Sure you can pull some really expensive card, but, much more likely, you can get c**p rares too.

Starting with Ravnica they made every card 'good'. That means that the average value of a pack is better in Ravnica and up. You have less chance to pull a card that it worth +10 dollars, but you also have less chance of pulling a rare that is not worth the cardboard it is printed on.

  2. i would get an angel deck or black or green . lots of bootsters have at east one rare it just dependes what color or what type rare u want

  3. every booster contains one rare always.

starter decks contain two booster pack and like 30 lands or something like that.

and always have a extra rare card.

so its basically 3 rares for every starter deck.

but they could be the same card.

and have the starter deck is mana.

so if you want more creatures instants and sorceries you should get a booster pack 15 cards per pack about 3.50 per pack.

starter decks are like 10 dollors but like i said half is land.

  4. Each set will have it's own good and expensive cards.  If you really want the good expensive cards, I would have to go all the way back to Urza Block packs and before.  That was when Magic was the most powerful.  And if you want to search forever and pay up the backside, find Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited packs.  They are pretty much nonexistent now, but if you do find an unopened pack, it will cost you about $1000-$2000 a pack.  But then again, that's where you will find the Power 9.
