Magical places when you were younger?

Are there any places that you visited when you were younger and they seemed so intensely beautiful, mysterious and wonderful?

I remember this fast food seating place under Myer in the city of Sydney, and it was green with stools and the ceiling was low and there was always so many people and the lighting was cool and it seemed downtown and mysterious, i thought it was just so cool!

Another place was The Rocks at Circular Quey, again in sydney city - it was this grass area that people went to sleep on and relax and i thought it was so cold, grassy and special, especially when it was an over cast day.

I don't know if I've created the right imagery for you to understand what i mean, but go ahead - what are some of your youth's magical places?

  1. When i was younger and i wanted to clear my mind and remove stress and stuff like that, i'd imagine i was standing in this endless field with hills. There would be pinkish coloured flowers (and other colors too) growing and covering all the hills, but i never dreamt what kind of flowers exactly. There would be a pretty kinda willow tree somewhere on one of the hills, the wind would be blowing softly, and every thing would glow like being in bright sunlight; however when i looked up (in my magical palce) i'd see stars and the moon instead. And the sky would be like a super clear night after a heavy rain.

    yeah. ;)

lol. oops i thought you meant a dream-place.

Well i guess it sort of counts. :P

  2. My parent's basement during tornadoes... a bunch of families would come to our house and we would laugh and sing and play games...our parents would get completely loaded.  I still don't think they ever knew just exactly what the kids were up to in the other room...

  3. There was only one magical place for me when i was a kid, it was the Childrens Home called Belmont House at Cheadle in Cheshire. It really has never left my mind  because of the lovely times I had there when looked after by the people in charge and the great friends I had with the children. Sadly I went back a few years ago to find that the home was now an Old Peoples Residence. The house manor and gardens, stream at the bottom were still there and the memorys flooded back to bring memory of happiness to me,naturally tears came. After that I even managed to get some of the children to come and meet with each other later. Sadly thats days gone by now, but life has to go on. Magical or otherwise.
