Does the Maglev train in China seriously hover, or did I misunderstand?

  1. Yeah "...economic and political barriers and limitations have hindered the widespread adoption of the technology."

    pretty sad we could be living better if some railroads would stop being lazy and get the new technology.


  2. Yes.  Like the previous posters said, it doesn't touch the rail to eliminate friction.  It still has air drag and magnetic friction though, so it isn't exactly perpertual motion.

  3. Yep! And it's because it hovers that it can move sooo darn fast!   No friction.
