Magnavox Color TV Model #27MT3305/17

Question

The tv is about 2 years old. It developed a black stripe across the top of the screen where the picture is gone. Below that 3 inch strip, there is another 1 inch strip that has slight distortion and sometimes upside down picture. In time, the black will creed down to that distorted section and kill that part of the screen as well. Can I fix this problem myself? Help!!! It's Superbowl Sunday!!!! Thanks alot.
