Magnavox big screen problem

Question

our 48 in proj. tv turned off after a powere surge a week ago. I went to turn it back on and the power light comes on, but goes right back off? any ideas on what the problem could be. The tv is 10 years old and we bought a new one, but thought if it wasnt much to fix this one the kids could use it for video games and karaoke. Thanks
