Mags Gamble looking solid in Betfred Steel City Cup - 1st Semi-final at Sheffield
After an outstanding victory last time, Mags Gamble has a realistic chance of securing the first place in the first semi-final of Betfred Steel City Cup, being held at Sheffield on Tuesday, August 07, 2012.
After ending up fourth on his return to Sheffield, the white and fawn dog brought things under control, and demonstrated a splendid show last time out. Despite a crowded start, Crash’s son did well to attain a handsome lead, which he retained until the finishing
line.
H. Williams’ trainee is set to start the show from the sixth trap, and the draw seems an advantage for him. If he succeeds in gaining a decent lead at the start, no one could stop him from bagging the first prize.
Among his opponents in the 500 metres race are: Boher Paddy, Hather George, Whiterock, Bit View Royal and Meadow Bank Owl. The winning runner will not only earn a place in the grand finale, but also a handsome cash prize worth £200. The clash is due to get
under way at 20:13 GMT.
Whiterock was an unlucky loser last time. The white and black dog missed the top place only by a neck’s distance. He is not a regular runner in England, but looks in great position. This journey will certainly be a tough one for him.
Meadow Bank Owl might come up with a late surge to snatch the qualification spot. Yet, the punters should not trust him blindly especially after a couple of defeats he suffered lately.
Bit View Royal defeated Boher Paddy on last occasion, but would be under some pressure today. Hather George is a good all-rounder, but the draw is a huge concern for him.
Luck is not on Boher Paddy’s side these days. Only an early lead can help Charlie Lister’s charge do something special tonight.
Hather George has a decent chance, but it is a very good opportunity for Mags Gamble to steal the show. However, he will have to give his best shot in order to succeed against this line-up. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
