Mags Gamble striving for reaching hat-trick through bagging the Betfred ‘The Bonus King’ Standard Dogs Trophy
The £1000 prize money of the Betfred ‘The Bonus King’ Standard Dogs Trophy has got six talented hounds lined up for the 500 metres flat race at Nottingham on Wednesday 18th July. Sharing the track with him today are Mill Hercules, Droopys Rory, Boher Paddy, Mags Gamble, Stellars Blue and Millwards Alpha.
Crash’s three-year-old white and fawn son bagged his seasonal debut on 7th January in the Williamhill.Com Standard Division A Stakes at Newcastle over 480 metres.
Taking off from the third gate, Mags Gamble was the first one to lead and refused to compromise on it, concluding the race in 28.74 seconds. Finishing the closest to the winner was, Droopys Aliyah, who timed the track distance in 29.02 seconds.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Skywalker Flame.
The three-year-old out of b***h, Movealong Rose, then won the Pinpoint Recruitment Standard on 10th March at Newcastle over 480 metres. Leading after leashing from the fifth stall got him the race in 28.46 seconds.
It took him 30.59 seconds to settle the Bettor.Com Betting On The Dogs 500 Trophy at Shawfield over 500 metres on 7th April. He was quick to set in an early pace, got into a high gear and went clear soon after racing from the middle.
He won by the staggering margin of 9 ¼ lengths and was joined by Tricky Chuggy after he had raced for 31.33 seconds.
Mags Gamble then landed the Bettor For Betting On The Dogs 500 Trophy Final on 13th April, 2012 at Shawfield over 500 metres. He timed the track distance in 30.23 seconds.
The possibility of a hat-trick faded with the fourth position in the very next race. The last two races of the H. Williams’ trained are have been successes, first at Newcastle and the next one at Nottingham.
On 5th July, the white and fawn dog won a 480 metres race by being quick to lead after breaking lose from the fifth gate. He reached the other end of the wire in 28.85 seconds.
It took the three-year-old 30.26 seconds to settle the 500 metres race on 9th July.
Keeping up with the level of consistency will not deprive him of the hat-trick for a third time.
