Maharashtra gave a mind-blowing batting performance in their Group B Ranji Trophy match against Baroda, ending the game in a draw after hammering a mammoth score of 449 in their first innings, at Subrata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Symonds-c44611 Sahara Stadium, Pune.
After stabbing 376 for seven on the penultimate day, Maharashtra resumed their innings with SS Mundhe and AA Darekar in a bid to continue their batting for as long as possible.
The duo did not exhibit any restraint against the bowlers as they were in a hurry to pile 400 runs. Finally, Darekar (18) was sent back by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 with 401 runs on the board.
Mundhe and NR Dhumal then chose to declare their innings just one run short of posting 450 on the board. Mundhe stayed unbeaten on 46, while NR Dhumal stood tall with a knock of 27 to his name.

With the game heading for an obvious draw, Baroda knew they needed to give a batting performance to their fans as they had nothing to lose.
However, they lost their only wicket of the second innings with 14 runs on the board when AM Gupta saw his stumps spread all over the place against Mundhe with only six runs under his belt.
