Jayawardene’s men defeated reigning IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening match on Saturday, and resume their CLT20 campaign today, October 19, 2012, against Auckland Aces of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, at Kingsmead in Durban.

“It's been good (gap). An unusual gap for us [though],” said the Daredevils skipper while speaking to media reporters on the eve of their match against Auckland Aces. “We just needed to make sure that we had a couple of good practice sessions, boys had a bit of free time for as them as well. For some guys it is good because, they had played a lot of cricket so it's bit of a breathing space,” Jayawardene added further.
Fresh after an almost week-long break, the Daredevils will play three back-to-back matches, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 (October 19), Perth Scorchers (October 21) and Titans (October 23), and Jayawardene urged his players to make sure they prepared themselves well for the hectic six days.
About the match against the Aces, the Sri Lankan top-order batsman said, “It is a big game for us tomorrow and we can't take anything for granted.”
With four points from one game, the IPL team is second in the CLT20 Group A, only behind http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Titans-c856 and Jayawardene said that if they executed their game plan well, everything else will fall into place.
“Keep it simple focus on our strengths and try and execute a good game plan,” said the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, who was appointed as Daredevils skipper after Sehwag stepped down to focus on his individual form. “We’ve to be consistent and win that. So we’ve to try and do that," he added further.
