Mahela Jayawardene delighted as Prasanth Parameswaran keeps cool against Delhi Daredevils - IPL
Captain of the Kochi Tuskers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803, Mahela Jayawardene, showered praise on Prasanth Parameswaran on Tuesday, May 3, after his side’s 7-wicket victory over Delhi Daredevils in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, saying that the pace man did not lose his nerve in his debut match.
"A brilliant effort from the debutant Parameswaran. He bent his back and bowled well. He was a debutant but didn't let his nerves show,” Jayawardene said after the match. The newly appointed pace man was allowed to play the match after he proved his mettle in the practice sessions. Kochi Tuskers Kerala, who chose to field first after winning the toss, reached the 141-run target with five overs to spare at a run rate of 9.4 runs per over.
The Sri Lankan batsman kept faith in his side’s ability, despite a slow start in the ongoing IPL. Jayawerdene added that the squad had difficulty adjusting to the Kochi tracks but they adapted well with the wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
"We always knew we had the talent, we just needed to believe in ourselves. We found it difficult to adapt to the tracks in Kochi but on this, we batted brilliantly," he maintained.

Delhi has heavily depended on their openers, Sehwag and David Warner, throughout the ongoing IPL tournament. In the fixture against Kerala they failed to fire back, putting the middle order batsmen under a lot of pressure.
Parameswaran, who earned the title of the Man of the Match, thanked his family for their support. Speaking of Sehwag’s dismissal, the pace man said that he was confident that he could pick the wicket.
With four wins from nine fixtures, the Kerala outfit stands at the 6th position in the Indian Premier League points table with eight points.
