Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene has urged his side to tackle challenging situations head-on, in order to emerge victorious from their 3rd ODI, currently being played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The host team conceded a 6-wicket defeat to Pakistan in the first ODI, but made a powerful comeback in the next match, clinching an emphatic 76-run victory. They now have a chance to gain an upper-hand as they go into the 3rd game of the 5-match
series.
“I thought the guys showed lot of character in the second game when we bounced back,” Jayawardene observed. “We need to make sure that we [continue to] play to our strength. Like in the last game, we will be challenged in certain situations and we need to
handle those situations well. If we do that successfully, the results will be in our favour."
West Indies’ young all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221 will be “hungry” to perform as he joins the national squad for a 3-match ODI series, scheduled to begin on June 16 at Southampton.
“Chris is a world-class. He has proven himself over the years,” Pollard observed. “He has been out for a while so he will be hungry to go out there and perform.”
Gayle, a veteran of 228 ODIs, with 8087 runs at an average of 39.06, has not played for the national side since the World Cup in March last year, owing to a spat with the West Indies Cricket Board. With the disagreement having been resolved, the formidable
32-year-old batsman is expected to boost the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 team in a major way, and enable them to finally clinch a series win, after having lost the Tests series 2-0.
