Mahela Jayawardene happy with his team after beating Rajasthan Royals
Kochi Tuskers Kerala’s skipper, Mahela Jayawardene, has expressed satisfaction over the performance of his team but wants his men to be more consistent and end the season on a good note.
The Tuskers defeated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals yesterday with an emphatic margin of eight wickets. The win put Kochi at the sixth spot on the points table as they have 12 points after 13 games.
Kochi has not done that well in the current season but Jayawardene is pleased with the way his young side is bouncing back. He said there is not much room for error in the shortest form of the game and consistency is the most important thing.
They failed to defend a high score in their previous game against Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 but Jayawardene is happy with this comprehensive victory over a strong Royals side.
He vows to finish off the season with another victory in their last game against Chennai Super Kings.
Jayawardene said, "We need to try and be more consistent, that's a key word in Twenty20 cricket. Easy win, so happy with that. The other day we couldn't defend 180, today we executed. We want to finish off the season on a high, with 14 points, and we'd like
to say we had a good season."
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brad-Hodge-c1184, who was named as the Player of the Match for his superb all-round performance also expressed satisfaction over his team’s victory. Hodge admitted that his team should have done better in the initial stages of the tournament but said that things
have started to fall in place now.
The middle order batsman said that their last match against the Super Kings is going to be a tough one but Kochi will fight hard to pull off another win before the end of the season.
"We've performed pretty well. We are short of where we need to be, but it's coming together. Chasing a low total, the plan was to just go in there and play with freedom and get the job done. We are up against Chennai, it's going to be a tough game but hopefully
we can pull it off," said Hodge.
