Sri Lankan captain, Mahela Jayawardene was happy that his side gave a tough fight to the ramping Australians in the first final of the triangular Commonwealth Bank series played at the Gabba, on Sunday, which the former lost by just 15 runs.

He singled out opening bowler Nuwan Kulasekara for praise. "Kula (Nuwan Kulasekara) did very well, lots of positives for us to take from this. When Upul (Tharanga) got out, that probably put us back a bit. If there was a batsman left till the end, who knows?" said
the visiting skipper.
He did admit that the top order failed and they should have tried to grab the initiative at the start, similar to their Australian counterparts.
