Mahela Jayawardene vows to contain Chris Gayle and triumph over Bangalore

Holding sixth position on the points table, Kochi needs to win three out of the four remaining games in order to qualify for the play-offs.
Having joined the Bangalore side in the midst of the tournament, Gayle is h**l bent upon proving a point to everyone. He lashed two match winning centuries in his previous two outings.
The Tuskers see Gayle as a formidable threat in the rival camp. Mahela would be looking contain him at every cost, he said, “Gayle has done very well and we need to take that into account.”
Mahela’s side has won just five out of ten games they have played so far. Kochi has 10 points while Bangalore holds the fourth position with 11 points.

Mahela is satisfied with the performance of the local players.

But Mahela admits that his side is young and will need time to settle down properly.
Bangalore is being led by the Kiwi skipper, Daniel Vettori. The side contains some of the world’s top batsmen, capable of giving match winning performances.
Both sides will be striving hard for victory in order to strengthen their place in the tournament.
